2009 Hummer/Bird Celebration

The threat of Hurricane
Ike forced cancellation of our 20th annual 2008 Hummer/Bird
Celebration. Fortunately for us Ike did not make landfall in our area,
however our hearts go out to those on the upper Texas coast who were
directly affected by the storm.
We’re now delighted to report that all our scheduled 2008
speakers plan to speak at this year’s 2009 Hummer/Bird Celebration, so you
won’t miss a thing. We do anticipate some exciting new changes in our
Hummer/Bird Mall and speaker venues. We will update this website as plans
progress so check in periodically.
Thank you for your attendance and support at our past
Hummer/Bird Celebrations. We hope you will join us again this year to enjoy
seeing Ruby-throated Hummingbirds gathering in our community this fall.

This is a ruby throated
hummingbird that is not quite an albino. The color is
considered leucistic (almost white). This bird was seen
and banded in Rockport, Texas in September, 2006. |

been rehabilitated and is being released. |
